PSHE / RSE

At St Augustine’s we are using a whole school approach to wellbeing, known as Promoting Alternative Thinking Strategies (PATHS). This involves direct teaching on comfortable and uncomfortable emotions, and acknowledging that all emotions are valid. We also celebrate a special child per day, giving them compliments and special jobs to complete. Please see the below resources explain a little more about our practice, and may help you in supporting your child with this at home.

We also use TenTen resources to support our teaching on Relationships and Health Education. This is a scheme of work which is approved for Catholic Primary Schools, and covers topics related to health and wellbeing, relationships, and living in the wider world.

In addition, we use resources from the PSHE Association to supplement our curriculum. This ensures a broad coverage of different themes, and supports learning on financial management and career options.

If you would like any further information or support, please contact your child’s teacher or Mrs Buddle (PSHE and wellbeing coordinator).
